The One Minute Review: Nespresso Inissia Espresso machine

The espresso had been my all-time favorite, but not its price. After all, spending $2 for a 1-ounce shot doesn’t seem justified. That’s where the Nespresso Inissia espresso machine helped me, which I came across while searching for one.

Nespresso Inissia is the basic version of the brand’s automatic capsule pods espresso maker, designed to make brewing at home easy for all. It fits in the shortest available space and starts brewing with a press of a button. With 700 ml water, you can make 9 cups of espresso; at a time.

Inissia has a simple but attractive humanized design with small but firm footprints, adjustable drip tray auto-shut mode, and easy-to-use buttons. One is a power-cum- start button that starts the brewing once the machine is on, and the other is the brew size button for espresso and lungo each.

Nespresso Inissia uses 19 bar pressure pump and a patented extraction system to brew and extract the rich flavor from the pods. I got the rich coffee I wanted—aromatic, flavorful, with and thick crema layer on the top. And it took only about a minute.

Pros

  • Light in weight.
  • Heat up in 25 seconds.
  • Foldable drip tray.

  • Lightweight.
  • Large capsule holder.

Nespresso Inissia is an espresso maker designed with great attention to style and convenience. With a compact and lightweight dimension: it fits in the small corner of the room. Inissia’s stylish design with minimalistic works adapts to any decor.

Of course, Inissia’s quirky U-shaped body curved at the neck is attractive. But what attracted me the most was the lever to insert the pods.

The streamlined appliance comes with a U-shaped lever, which you must raise and lower to open and close the capsule ejecting container. No other technique can be easier than this. The container is large enough to hold 10-used pods.

Inissia by Breville is available in colorful variants to satisfy all tastes, though the semi-circular food-grade acrylic water tank placed at the back is transparent. The footprints are tiny and stay hidden but are firm-gripped.

Though Nespresso Inissia is a small and compact espresso maker, its performance impresses all. It is one of the fastest espresso machines in the line. In 25 seconds, it heats up the water and starts brewing.

As for the time taken for brewing, it depends on the selected cup size. My espresso shot filled in 15 seconds, and my lungo in 20 seconds. Hence, in less than 1-minute, it heats up water, extract, and delivers rich, bold coffee.

You can serve 9 cups at a time without waiting. Hence, much of your time saves.

  • Retain flavor and aroma.
  • Thick crema on the top.

The 19 bars pressure pump and the brand’s patent extraction system ensure that the coffee quality is never compromised. It extracts and pours the barista-style rich coffee with flavors and aroma retained.

The coffee quality impressed me in look and taste. The espresso and the lungo were what I presumed. It was aromatic, well-rounded, and rich in taste, topped with a thick layer of Nespresso’s distinctive crema. I could feel the complex blend of flavor and fragrance.

Cleaning is undoubtedly one of the most annoying tasks. Fortunately, the Nespresso group has always simplified the task as much as possible.

Being a Nespresso machine, Inissia comes with a descaling feature. Just as it does most work, it descales automatically through a 15-minute descaling cycle. You only need to use Nespresso’s descaling liquid to complete the process. As for cleaning the exterior, you can do it by hand or with a damp sponge and soap.

Since Nespresso’s this edition doesn’t have a descaling indicator, remember to clean it after every 1,000 to 4,000 shots of espresso.
